General Motors announced yesterday that the Pontiac Vibe will end production in August at the company’s New United Motor Manufacturing Incorporated (NUMMI) facility jointly operated in partnership with Toyota.
GM’s North America President Troy Clarke today denied reports that the Detroit automaker is looking to license Toyota’s hybrid synergy drive systems.
Clarke said that GM is ”still in discussions with Toyota on the joint venture and potential products.”
GM and Toyota together produce the Pontiac Vibe and the Toyota Corolla at NUMMI.
